This Yaesu FT-101ZD MK2 is being sold as a parts radio or for repair. It DOES NOT operate properly. It's overall condition looks good and complete less a few cabinet screws. All the shields are installed inside, just removed for the pictures. The face, knobs, feet & internal boards are included and appear to be unmolested. The radio is dead when hooked to the AC power. If you hook 12v to the 12v source on the power supply board inside, it does receive very well. It has good audio, good sensitivity on all bands( 160 thru 10m ) . The digital display does not light. The 3 tubes 12BY7 & both 6146B's are included but I have no way to test them. I have enjoyed listening to 80 & 40 meters & SW broadcast several nights with thoughts of repairing this beautiful piece of equipment. I feel the display driver IC is bad since it is a common problem. I found the fix for the display ( not performed ) but I haven't found the repair for the dead problem. There is a lot of information on line to aid in repair for this guy. The Mark 2 is the radio with the WARC bands and AM, it is installed & working by the way. If you have a ZD in need of repair this is a wealth of parts . If you are looking for 1 of the best vintage hybrid transceivers as a winter project this is your perfect opportunity to get that project going. Since it is being sold as a parts radio it is being offered AS-IS. There is minimal wear on the face, some paint chips over the case, no rust or dents. I have no mic or power cord to include.
